licensing & pricing

One licence fee, then a yearly subscription.

Every tool is still in development, so these are the planned launch prices, and early-access users get them locked in. Every product will be priced the same way. An initial licence fee gets you the software and the first 12 months of updates and support. From year two, an annual subscription keeps new versions and support coming. Cancel any time and the version you've validated keeps working.

How pricing works over time On day one you pay the initial licence fee, which includes 12 months of new versions and support. From year two an annual subscription continues updates and support. If you cancel, the versions you already have keep working. How the licence file works

  1. Made out to youYour licence file names your organisation and the date your subscription runs to. It's digitally signed, so it can't be altered or forged.
  2. Checked on the machineThe software checks the signature itself each time it starts. There's no activation server and nothing is sent anywhere.
  3. Refreshed each yearEach subscription payment comes with a new licence file covering another year of updates. Copy it over the old one.
  4. Shown in your reportsYour organisation's name appears in the software and on the reports it produces.

Questions

When will the tools be released?
Each tool is released when it's ready, not on a fixed schedule. Request early access, or get in touch, and you'll hear as soon as a tool you're interested in goes on sale.
What does the subscription pay for?
New versions of the software and email support, for as long as it's active. It starts a year after your initial purchase, because the first year is included in the licence fee.
What happens if we cancel the subscription?
Nothing stops working. You keep using every version released while you were covered, for as long as you like. Newer versions won't accept your licence file, and support for that product ends until you resubscribe.
Does the software need an internet connection?
No. It never needs to go online, not even once to activate, and the subscription doesn't change that. Each renewal simply comes with a new licence file to copy across.
We've validated a version. Can we keep using it?
Yes, indefinitely, subscribed or not. If you need to reinstall an older version you were licensed for, for example to re-run work for court, ask and you'll be sent the installer for that exact version.
Can the subscription be invoiced instead of charged to a card?
Yes. Teams usually pay both the licence fee and the yearly subscription by invoice against a purchase order. Card subscriptions renew automatically, with a reminder 30 days before.
What if we resubscribe after a gap?
The subscription restarts from the date it lapsed, so the gap is covered. That keeps it fair for everyone who stays subscribed, and you get every version released in between.
What counts as a unit licence?
One unit licence covers every workstation used by a single forensic, video or digital investigation unit within one police force or organisation, however many there are. Other departments or forces need their own licence. If your set-up doesn't fit neatly, ask and it'll be sorted in the quote.
Can we move a licence to a different machine?
Yes. Licences aren't locked to hardware, so rebuilding or replacing a workstation is fine. Each licence is for one workstation in use at a time.
How does early access work?
Every tool is in active development. Request early access and you'll get a time-limited licence to use the current build on your own material, with a direct line for feedback. When the tool is released, early-access users can buy at the launch prices shown here, locked in.
